Under 12 v Pembrey away PDF Print E-mail

With a full squad bar one available we travelled to bottom team Pembrey looking to keep the pressure on at the top of the table.
In what turned out to be a pretty decent game in some really difficult conditions in the strong winds, the boys got to grips and got the ball down & played some nice football throughout.

After starting quite brightly and wasting a handful of chances, it took us 18mins to open the scoring in what turned out to be a pretty one sided affair. Archie followed a save to smash in the rebound for 1-0. Quickly followed by a long range strike from Alex on 22min & a follow up finish by Liam on 25 for a comfortable 3-0 halftime lead which to be fair to Pembrey they may have been largely second best but defended in numbers and with guts.

Making changes at halftime, this was the turning point as a one sided 2nd half followed with regular goals arriving.
Goals by Jaden tappining in a rebound save and similarly by Cai & Harri. This was followed by a towering header by Harvey from an Archie corner to make it 7-0. Jaden had a great volley tipped around the post before Mati was in the right place to slot home after another save by the Pembrey goalkeeper for 8-0.

After switching from striker to centre back, Harri went on a run from his own half taking on a number of Pembrey players and burying his second on 49mins which was followed a minute later for his 3rd which he smashed into the top corner from a cleared corner for 10-0.
Goal 11 arrived on 52mins when Keegan played a short corner and Archie drilled a low shot from distance into the bottom corner and Josh rounded off the scoring on 58mins with a well taken finish again set up by Keegan.

Credit to Pembrey who battled throughout the match and the goalkeeper who pulled off a number of brave saves but also credit to a number of our players who were in the right place at the right time to score from them rebounds. Also a few cracking goals from distance by Alex, Harri & Archie.

We were also able to rotate and try a few players in new positions which gives us options going forward.
A job well done by our boys and now we look forward to Tumble at home on Jan 18th @ 10:30am.
We must give a mention to the parents on the sideline watching in some difficult conditions, a great support...thank you.

Come on the boys!!
