Under 12 v Johnstown PDF Print E-mail

After losing the first game of the season 5-1 in Johnstown back in September with a bare squad, this was our chance to do ourselves justice.

Probably as predicted, the Xmas break did our football form no favours and starting the game this morning we were lethargic and passes were astray and it was no surprise that Johnstown took the lead midway through the first half with a near post finish which they thoroughly deserved.

With a six strong bench including new signing Joshua Lasley, we made a few changes at halftime which made an immediate difference when Joshua got us back level 6 mins into the 2nd half with a classy finish after a couple of one two's with Alex & Keegan.

From this goal we took control and had a couple of decent chances with Josh, Harri & Liam having efforts saved before Archie followed up another great save to smash into the roof of the net to put us up 2-1 up.

With our back 3 of Charlie, Ianto & Connor Pike looking solid and Connor Woods in goal easily dealing with anything Johnstown threw at us we took control.

Now well on top and creating plenty of chances, Harri used his size to power through the defence and bury his chance to put us 3-1 up with 10 mins left.

Seeing out the last 10mins and giving all the boys some game time, this was a well deserved win considering it was the first game after Xmas.
Next up we have Pembrey away on Sat 11th Jan with great chance to keep the pressure on Saron who lead the way 3 points ahead of us.
